bean term RDT

[back to terms]

Definition

RDT stands for Ross Droplet Technique.

Add one or two fine mist sprays (or a trace of water on a spoon handle) to whole beans before grinding. The goal is to tame static and keep fines from sticking to the grinder chute, catch cup, or counter.

Here RDT is treated as prep hygiene rather than flavor tuning: it improves workflow consistency and reduces retention scatter.
